I currently co-lead the Cognitive Neuroscience Unit (~83 members) at Deakin University. Within the CNU, I also lead my own Neuroplasticity and Multimodal Imaging Lab (~20 members) directly working under my supervision. I am a traumatic brain injury (TBI) expert, internationally recognised for significantly advancing the understanding of (i) the biological basis of behavioural deficits in TBI; and (ii) the biological mechanisms of action of TBI training programs. I am the intellectual lead of this highly novel and successful neuroimaging research program, supported by 8 years of fellowship funding and external project grants totalling $3.8 million (including Medical Research Future Fund, National Health and Medical Research Council, National Institutes of Health, Veski, etc). I have published 131 papers in the last 10 years, cited > 3870 times (h-index: 38). I am the President of the ISMRM ANZ Committee (~100 members) and I co-lead the moderate/severe paediatric ENIGMA TBI group. In 2021 I was awarded the Young Investigator Award from the Australasian Cognitive Neuroscience Society.
